9370 is the author's Western Australian Police regimental number. The book is an incredible story of his time wearing those numbers. The stories are real but it reads like a fiction book and the reader may question if it all happened. It did and it's the first book of its genre from a Western Australian cop-guaranteed to engage and enlighten the reader about the realities of confronting crime on the front line.

Trapped in the dark abyss, he pressed the gun barrel into the flesh of his forehead and begin to gently squeeze the trigger. In one second it would all be over, final and certain. Suddenly a thought invaded his mind, it was enough to make him hesitate and ease off the trigger. It was an illuminated silver ray of light that penetrated through thick dark storm clouds. His life and career changed at that moment, from that one invasive, illuminated thought. The thought was powerful and conquering, prompting hope and a spark of courage that ignited a fire within to fight back and climb out of the black hole of post traumatic stress.
It's an inspirational ending that would encourage others in similar circumstances. The book promotes community understanding about the actual price many law enforcement officers pay to carry out their role. But it could be your story too, because sooner or later, we all pay a price for what we do.

I just finished reading this book today which I received from the James a few days ago. I have known James for over 30 years from his time in California and while we were in different parts of the world standing on the front line of the police service he has captured what is an unfortunate reality in society as criminals are preferred over those who are sworn to protect the public. There is nothing fictional in this book and I could add another 100 of my own incidents each similar to the ones described in this book as could many front line officers. James does not hold back and sugar coat anything Our current trend in society will certainly result in Sooner or Later Everyone Will Pay a Price.
